Caring for Plumbing Fixtures Finishes Porcelain Enamel
Porcelain enamel is hard, glass-like paint that is applied in heavy layers and 'baked on' under high temperatures. It is used on cast iron, steel tubs, kitchen and bar sinks.
- To clean, use a soft cloth or sponge with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
- Purchase a grid, if available, for the bottom of the kitchen sink to help minimize scratching
- Avoid allowing coffee or tea to stand in the bottom of the sink as staining can occur
- NEVER use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads and these will dull the gloss and eventually wear to the base material
- NEVER use chlorine or any other type of harsh chemical
