The dripping can last as long as three minutes to enable the water in the pipes to drain. If dripping lasts for longer than three minutes, one of two problems likely has occurred. One option is the mechanical stop is not set properly causing the cartridge to remain partially open. A second option is that the cartridge needs to be replaced.
